You’ve been told most of your life that the sun is bad. You’ve been told sunscreen should be applied “generously” every time you go out in the sun. You’ve been told that skin cancer is caused by too much sun and too little sunblock. Unfortunately these “truths” are grossly misleading. Sunlight is absolutely critical to your health in ways we still don’t fully understand. Like anything moderation and adaption must be considered of course, but sunlight is essential in hormone regulation, sleep cycle regulation, mental state, vitamin D production, gut metabolism and biodiversity, and much more. One truth is absolute, if you want to be healthy you can’t avoid sunlight.
